The United States on Friday suspended over 1.15 billion Dollars in security aid and the supply of military equipment to Pakistan for failing to clamp down on terror groups, including Afghan Taliban and the Haqqani Network and dismantle their sanctuaries on its soil. <br/><br/>State Department spokesperson Heather Nauert told reporters in Washington that the freeze does not mean that the aid amount will be suspended forever. <br/><br/>She said Pakistan has the ability to get this money back in the future, provided they take decisive action against these terror groups whom US considers to be destabilising the region and also targeting US personnel.<br/><br/>The decision came three days after President Trump complained on Twitter that Pakistan had given the US nothing but lies & deceit and accused it of providing safe haven to the terrorists America hunts in Afghanistan. <br/><br/>The freeze is the most tangible sign yet of Washington's frustration with Pakistan's refusal to crack down on terrorist networks operating there. The move also underlines how swiftly relations with Pakistan have deteriorated since Mr. Trump took office.<br/><br/>There was no immediate reaction from Islamabad to the US move.''
