US military has said one of its soldiers was being detained in connection with the shootings of two American soldiers and wounding of another in Iraq. A military statement on Tuesday said specialist Neftaly Platero is in pre-trial confinement following the killing of two soldiers last Thursday. On Friday, the US military said two of its soldiers were killed and one wounded in a non-combat related incident. The U.S. military has formally ended their combat operations by September 1 and the American force has decreased from about 90, 000 to 50,000. Washington said that the remaining U.S. troops will remain in Iraq to conduct support and training missions.
