US Senate passes a new legislation aimed at stemming flow of illegal immigrants

The United States Senate has passed a new legislation costing some 600 million dollars aimed at stemming the flow of illegal immigrants from Mexico and stopping the activities of illegal drug runners across the border. The amount will be spent on 1500 new border patrol agents, customs inspectors and other officials, as well as two additional unmanned drones to track illegal migrants from skies. Almost a third of the budget will go to the FBI and drug enforcement officials. Analysts say the swift final adoption of this law represent a rare moment of agreement between Republicans and Democrats.
