US seeks early relaunch of Israel-Palestine peace talks

U.S. special Middle East envoy George Mitchell has said that US wants an early re launch of Israeli-Palestinian peace negotiations. He told this before meeting with Israeli President Shimon Peres in Jerusalem today. He arrived in Israel last evening for a new round of talks with Israeli and Palestinian leaders. Mr. Mitchell also said that U.S. administration is committed to the peace process despite the fact that there will be many hurdles along the way.<br/><br/>Mitchell is scheduled to meet separately with Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman and Defense Minister Ehud Barak. He is also slated to meet Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian leaders in coming days.<br/>
