India today said, US Secretary of state Rex Tillerson has made a significant policy statement on India-US relations and its future. <br/><br/>In response to a question regarding the US Secretary of State Tillerson's statement on Indo-US relationship, External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said, Mr Tillerson has brought out its various strengths and highlighted shared commitment of the two countries to a rule-based international order. <br/><br/>He said, India appreciates his positive evaluation of the relationship and shares his optimism about its future directions. Mr Kumar said, New Delhi is looking forward to welcoming him in India next week for detailed discussions on further strengthening of bilateral partnership.<br/><br/>Mr Tillerson in a major India policy speech before the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) had said on Wednesday that President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi are committed to building an ambitious partnership that benefits not just their countries but also other nations working towards peace and stability. <br/><br/>He had also made an impassioned plea for closer ties with India while casting China as a threat to the world order and saying Pakistan needed to do more to fight terrorism.
