US says it is working with India to improve counter-terrorism cooperation

United States has said that it is working with India to improve counter-terrorism cooperation. It also stressed on the need for joint and concerted efforts to disrupt and degrade entities such as Lashker-e-Taoiba (LeT), Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) and D-Company. Speaking at the Defence Services Staff College at Wellington in Tamil Nadu, US Ambassador to India, Richard Verma said Washington and India have committed to making counter-terrorism cooperation a key component of their bilateral ties.<br/><br/>Mr Verma said Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the US President Barack Obama have also called for eliminating terrorist safe havens and infrastructure, disrupting terrorist networks and their financing, and stopping their cross-border movement. He said leaders of both the countries have also agreed to continue ongoing efforts through the Homeland Security Dialogue and the US-India Joint Working Group on Counter Terrorism.
