Russian Prime Minister, Dmitry Medvedev has said new sanctions imposed by the US are tantamount to declaring a full-scale trade war against Moscow. <br/><br/>In a facebook post, he wrote that tightening sanctions against Russia has cast a long shadow on hopes to improve relations with the new American administration. He wrote that it is the death of hopes to improve Russia's relations with the Donald Trump administration. <br/><br/>Earlier, in a statement, the Russian foreign ministry said, the new US sanctions, signed into law by President Donald Trump, are a dangerous and short-sighted policy. It said, the sanctions against<br/><br/>Russia has put global stability at risk and Moscow reserves the right to take retaliatory measures. <br/><br/>Mr Trump signed off on the sanctions behind closed doors yesterday, bowing to domestic pressure. The law aims to punish Russia for its alleged meddling in the 2016 US elections and its actions in Ukraine.
