The US has reminded Pakistan of its “special” responsibility to bring perpetrators of 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks to justice and asked it to do so “urgently”.State Department spokesman Mark Toner told this at his daily news conference in Washington. However Mr Toner has refused to make any comment on the statement by Tahawwur Hussain Rana arguing this is sub-judice. Rana, the Pakistani Canadian accused in the Mumbai terror attack case, has earlier claimed before a court that he provided “material support” to the terrorists at the behest of the Pakistan Government and its spy agency ISI and not the terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba.Meanwhile, BJP today said that any dialogue process with Islamabad is meaningless unless it takes credible action against the perpetrators of 26/11 Mumbai Attacks. Talking to reporters in New Delhi today, Party Spokesman Prakash Javdekar said that the Indian government should pressurise Pakistan to initiate action against those involved in the Mumbai carnage after the confession of LeT operative Tahawwur Rana on the involvement of ISI in the attack. Stating that his party is not in favour of discontinuing people-to-people contact, he however said that terror and talks can not go together.
