US pursuing psychological propaganda campaign against Iran, says Amiri

Iranian scholar Shahram Amiri, who reached Tehran today, alleged that the US is pursuing a psychological propaganda campaign against Iran. Speaking in a press conference upon his arrival in Tehran today, Amiri claimed that he turned down a 50 million dollar bribe offer by the US for cooperation. States has however rejected these charges. Amiri also dismissed reports that he made his decision to return to Iran after his family came under pressure by Iranian authorities. United Meanwhile, a report published in the online edition of the Washington Post said that Amiri had been working for the CIA for more than a year. It stated that he was allocated 5 million dollars from a secret programme aimed at inducing scientists, and others with information on Iran's nuclear programme, to defect.AIR West Asia correspondent reports that the disappearance and reappearance of Iranian scientist became mysterious. During June this year Amiri’s two different versions were surfaced in media. In one of them, he said that he reached United States for study while in another video he claimed that he was abducted. Mr. Amiri went missing a year ago while on pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia. Analysts say that this development may lead to another diplomatic standoff between Iran and US as both countries are already at loggerheads over Iranian nuclear issue.
