US President Donald Trump has called for calm and moderation in West Asia, amid reports of clashes in the region following his decision to recognise Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. <br/><br/>The White House today said the president has called for calm and moderation and the US is hoping that the voices of tolerance prevail over purveyors of hate. <br/><br/>The White House Principal Deputy Press Secretary Raj Shah told reporters that the president is committed to achieve a lasting peace agreement between the Israelis and the Palestinians. <br/><br/>He defended Mr Trump's decision on Jerusalem, saying US thinks that the decision to recognise reality, and recognise Jerusalem as the capital of Israel is the right decision.
