US President Barack Obama unveiled a new national space policy. The policy is designed to strengthen its leadership in space as also to intensify collaboration with countries like India. Unveiling the basic contours of America’s New Space Policy, President Obama said US seek to spur a burgeoning commercial space industry, and also to rapidly increase US capabilities in space. At this occasion, a White House officials said that the US greatly values India's emergence as a global player in space and research and aims to deepen its cooperation with India in the field of space. The new policy says that all nations have the right to explore and use space for peaceful purposes, in accordance with international law.
