US President Barack Obama arrived in New Delhi to a warm welcome on the second leg of his tour to India . In a rare and special gesture, Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh received President Obama and the first Lady Michelle Obama at the Air Force Station, Palam where a red carpet was rolled out. After alighting from the Air Force One plane, the US President Obama warmly shook hands with Dr Manmohan Singh and embraced him, reflecting the close rapport the two leaders share . He also had a brief interaction with Dr Manomhan and his wife Mrs Gursharan Kaur before driving away to World Hertage site Humayum Tomb. Later in the evening, President Obama and the first lady will be guests, at a private dinner being hosted by the Prime Minister at his residence. Select celebrities have been invited for the dinner. President Obama has a jam packed official programme tomorrow. After his ceremonial reception at the forecourts of Rastrapathi Bhavan and paying tributes at Raj Ghat, the samadhi of Father of Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, the US President will head for talks with Dr Manmohan Singh at Hyderabad House. The two leaders will also address a joint press conference after the meeting. AIR correspondent says, by promising to ease controls on hi tech exports and furthering co-operation in counter terrorism, Obama has set the tone of his talks with Dr Manmohan Singh.Voice cast Vice President Hamid Ansari, the leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Mrs Sushma Swaraj, and the Chairperson of UPA Mrs Sonia Gandhi, will call on the US President tomorrow afternoon. Later in the evening, Obama will address a Joint sitting of the Members of Parliament in the historic Central Hall. This is the second time, that a US President will be addressing a Joint sitting of Parliament, after Bill Clinton in 2000. The President Mrs Pratiba Devi Singh Patil will host a banquet in honour of visiting President . Obama will leave for Indonesia on Tuesday morning, on the second leg of his Asian tour.
