In the US Open, Sloane Stephens shocked 9th seed Venus Williams in the first all-American women's Semifinal, defeating the two-time champion, 6-1, 0-6, 7-5, this morning. Stephens, who is playing after returning from foot surgery, moves on to her first Grand Slam final, where she will play the winner of the other all-American semifinal between CoCo Vandeweghe and Madison Keys. In women's doubles, Sania Mirza of India along with her Chinese partner has entered the semifinal of the women's doubles. The duo defeated the Hungarian-Czech pair of Timea Babos and Andrea Hlavackova 7-6, 6-4.
