US Open: Sania Mirza-Ivan Dodig crash out of mixed doubles

In US Open, Sania Mirza's campaign in the mixed doubles came to an end as she and her Croatian partner Ivan Dodig lost their second round match against unheralded Barbora Krejcikova of Czech Republic and Marin Draganja of Croatia in straight sets 3-6 4-6. The match lasted just for 65 minutes as the Indo-Croat pair were outplayed in both the sets.In Men's singles, young Frenchman Lucas Pouille scored a stunning five-set upset over 14-times grand slam singles winner Rafa Nadal, winning a climactic tiebreaker 8-6 to reach the quarter-finals. Displaying poise, 24th seed Pouille yesterday took charge early and led two sets to one, then rebounded after sagging in the fourth set to win 6-1 2-6 6-4 3-6 7-6 in a four hour, seven minute struggle against the fourth seed. 22 year old Pouille will now play 10th-seeded compatriot Gael Monfils in the last eight. Monfils advanced with a 6-3 6-2 6-3 victory winner against unseeded Marcos Baghdatis of Cyprus.
