US Open: Novak Djokovic to take on Rafael Nadal in Men's singles final

At Flushing Meadows, New York, tonight, defending champion Rafael Nadal will meet World Number One Novak Djokovic in the U.S. Open Men's Singles final. Spain's Nadal has already wonTen Grand Slam titles, while Serbian Djokovic is seeking his fourth Grand Slam Crown and also his third of the year after lifting the Australian Open and Wimbledon crowns.In the women's singles final yesterday, Samantha Stosur outplayed three-time champion Serena Williams 6-2, 6-3 to claim the first Grand Slam title of her career. She also became the first Australian woman to take the title since Margaret Court in 1973. Stosur also is the first Australian woman to win a Grand Slam since Evonne Goolagong won Wimbledon in 1980.Meanwhile, US Open women's doubles title was bagged by the American pair of Liezel Huber and Lisa Raymond. In the final, the duo overcame defending champions Vania King, of the US, andKazakhstan's Yaroslava Shvedova in three sets 4-6 7-6 7-6. Huber and 38-year-old Raymond did it the hard way. They saved a match point in the second set and then won two nerve-wracking tiebreaks to seal the title.It was the sixth grand slam doubles title for Raymond and the fifth for Huber, who will rise to the number one rank in doubles with the victory. Raymond, who won her third US crown, most recently won a major at the 2006 French Open with Australian Sam Stosur. It was the fifth grand slam doubles title for Huber, who last prevailed at the 2008 US Open partnering Cara Black of Zimbabwe.
