US Open: Leander Paes & Purav Raja crash out in Men's Doubles

In Tennis, Leander Paes and Purav Raja have crashed out of the US Open, the fourth and final Grand Slam of the season, in New York. In the Men's Doubles second round match this morning, the pair lost to the Russian team of Karen Khachanov and Andrey Rublev, 4-6, 6-7 to bow out of the tournament.In Mixed Doubles, Rohan Bopanna and his Canadian team-mate Gabriela Dabrowski, seeded 7th, made it to the quarterfinals. They defeated the American-Spanish team of Nicholas Monroe and Maria Sanchez, 6-3, 6-4.In Women's Doubles, the fourth seeded Indo-Chinese duo of Sania Mirza and Shuai Peng also stormed into the last-8, with a three-setter win over the Romanian-Spanish pair of Sorana Cirstea and Sara Tormo.In the Singles, Maria Sharapova, who was playing her first Grand Slam after serving a dope ban, was ousted in the 4th round by Anastasija Sevastova. The Latvian won 5-7, 6-4, 6-2 to reach the last-8. Two-time US Open winner Venus Williams has also reached the quarter finals.
