India's plan to develop 100 smart cities can enhance quality of life for its citizens and help the country meet all environmental goals, an US official has said. US Deputy Secretary of Commerce Bruce Andrews, who travelled to India leading a delegation of 18 companies from America on a Smart Cities Infrastructure Business Development, said the plan could also offer a unique and important opportunity for businesses.Andrews said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi leadership in revitalising India's economic development and his vision to develop 100 smart cities could help India address its environmental objectives.During his visit, Andrews emphasised the need for India to address the issues of 'ease of doing business'.
