With less than ten days remaining of the crucial Sri Lankan Presidential election, the United States (U.S.) and Norway have become the centre of a controversy over alleged funding of the election campaign of the opposition consensus candidate retired General Sarath Fonseka to oust the incumbent President Mahinda Rajapaksa.The US and Norwegian missions , in separate statements on Saturday, asserted that they remain neutral on the Presidential elections in Sri Lanka and strongly condemned allegations that they are supporting one side over another. ”
