In US, a Military Officer opened fire with his two hand guns at Fort Hood military base at Texas killing 11 of his colleagues. 31 people also injured in the major shoot out incident. Base spokesperson Leutenant General Bob Cone said that the shooter had been killed in the incident and two suspect arrested. He said, the soldier was identified as Major Hassan Mallik, who sprayed bullets at a busy processing centre where troops go before being deployed on overseas mission. He said the motive for the shooting was not known. Texas Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison said Malik was about to be deployed to Iraq.<br/><br/>President Barack Obama described it as a horrific outburst of violence. Speaking at a press conference in Washington, President Obama said it is difficult enough when we lose these brave men and women abroad, but it is horrifying that they should come under fire at an army base on US soil. He extended his condolences to the families of the victims.
