The US State Department has lifted its travel advisory on Sri Lanka, issued in November last year. It cited the peaceful atmosphere as reason that has prevailed in the island nation a year after Sri Lanka’s defeat of terrorism. <br/> <br/>The US decision comes during a four-day visit of Sri Lankan's External Affairs Minister, Professor GL Peiris to Washington. He is scheduled to meet State Secretary Hillary Clinton today. The Minister met President Barack Obama’s national security adviser Gen James Jones. <br/>
