In a tweet, Mr Trump said, sanctions and other pressures are beginning to have a big impact on North Korea as the Rocket man now wants to talk to South Korea for the first time. <br/><br/>Mr Trump in November declared North Korea a state sponsor of terrorism, a move that allows the US administration to impose additional sanctions on Pyongyang over its nuclear and missile programmes. <br/><br/>North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un, during his annual New Year address, called for a breakthrough in relations with South Korea. <br/><br/>He said Pyongyang may attend the 2018 Winter Olympics to be held in the South Korean city of Pyeongchang. Following the North Korean leader's statement, South Korea yesterday proposed to hold high-level talks with Pyongyang.
