US lawmakers support India's counter-terror operations in PoK

Top US lawmakers have come out in support of India's surgical strikes in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, in the aftermath of the Uri terror attack.<br/><br/>Congressman Steny Hoyer, in the US House of Representatives tweeted that the Uri attack against India was horrific and prayers are with victims families. He added he will continue to follow India's subsequent counter terrorism operation closely. <br/><br/>Congressman Pete Olson said in a tweet that their sympathy and support goes out to India as it works to counter the terrorism faced in the Uri attack. Olson, from Texas, is Vice Chair of House Energy and Power Committee. <br/><br/>Senator Jeff Flake from Arizona said, condolences to the victims of last week's terrorist attack on the Indian Army base in Kashmir. He added that they stand with India in fighting terrorism. <br/><br/>Meanwhile, a White House petition seeking to designate Pakistan as terror state has gained more than 3 lakh 90 thousand signatures. Organisers of the petition said they have set a target of getting the support of more than a million people. They said it will reflect growing sentiment against Pakistan in the United States and globally.
