The three major US indices ended lower yesterday following mixed earnings from Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs, exerting pressure on banks. Selloffs in Boeing and Apple also weighed on the S&P 500.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.6 percent, the S&P 500 slipped 0.4 percent and the Nasdaq Composite index lost 0.2 percent.
