US: House of Representatives to vote today on sending Trump impeachment articles to Senate

The US House of Representatives will vote on Wednesday on sending articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump to the Senate.
''
'' The vote sets the stage for Mr Trump's impeachment trial to begin in earnest next week. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has been withholding the articles of impeachment in a row with Republicans over allowing witnesses.
''
'' Initiated by Pelosi on 24th September 2019, the House voted on two articles of impeachment against Trump: abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. Trump and the White House have denied those charges.
''
'' The Senate needs to complete a motion of trial before voting on the impeachment. The trial would be presided by the Supreme Court Chief Justice.
''
''The 435-member US House of Representatives, where Democrats enjoy a majority, last month charged Trump with "high crimes and misdemeanours" and impeached him for pressuring Ukraine to investigate a political rival.
