US Federal prosecutors charge 22 year old man for Arizona shooting

Federal prosecutors in the United States have charged a 22 year old man with shooting the Democratic Party Congresswoman Gabriell Giffords in Arizona on Saturday. The man, Jared Laughner, is facing five counts including attempted assassination and murder. Six people were killed when a gunman opened fire as Miss Giffords was meeting with constituents in the city of Tucson. The dead included Gabriell Giffords' political aide and a judge who were both government employees. Doctors treating the Congress-woman who was shot in the head say they are cautiously optimistic that she will recover. They say she is able to respond to simple instructions but is still in critical condition.
