The Unites States has expressed interest in developing solar energy sector in India.

This was informed by the Minister of New and Renewable Energy, Dr. Farooq Abdullah in a written reply in Rajya Sabha today. He said that the US companies are participating in bidding for solar power projects in India.

The Minister said that the government and non-governmental agencies of United States are interacting with various agencies in the country on solar energy.
