US expresses grave concern over current situation in Libya

The United States has expressed grave concern over the current situation in Libya. Speaking in Washington, the US State Department spokesman, P J Crowley said, the United States is gravely concerned with disturbing reports and images coming out of Libya. He said, the US have raised to a number of Libyan officials, including Libyan Foreign Minister Musa Kusa, its strong objections to the use of lethal force against peaceful demonstrators. Crowley called upon the Libyan government to uphold its commitment to protect and safeguard the right of peaceful protest. Nearly 200 people have been killed in the brutal crackdown against protesters demanding an end to Moamer Gadhafi's 41-year rule.
