US drone attacks kill 13 militants in Pakistan

In Pakistan, at least 13 militants were killed when US drones targeted two compounds and a vehicle in the restive Waziristan tribal region on Wednesday. The drones fired four missiles at two compounds in Karikot and Doogh areas near Wana, the main town in South Waziristan Agency. Ten militants were killed in the strikes. The men killed in the attacks were believed to be members of the Taliban faction headed by Mullah Nazir, whose men frequently carry out cross-border attacks on US and foreign forces in Afghanistan. In another attack, a drone targeted a vehicle on the Miranshah-Razmak road in North Waziristan Agency, killing three suspected militants. There have been more than 35 drone strikes in Pakistan's tribal belt bordering Afghanistan this year.
