The White House has denied Russian claims that differences with Moscow over the US Anti missile shield in Europe is holding up agreement on a new Strategic Weapos Reduction Treaty.Russia's top military commander General Nicolai Makarov said he did not accept American assurances that the system based on sea and land based interceptors in Europe was directed against Iran rather than Russia. Last year President Obama scrapped proposals to base the system in Poland and the Czech Republic in a move welcomed by Moscow.
