The US has condemned the suicide bomb attack near Indian Consulate in Jalalabad city of Afghanistan which took the lives of innocent civilians, including women and children. In a statement in Washhington, State Department spokesperson Jen Psaki asserted that the US and India are committed to working with Afghans towards long term peace, stability and prosperity in this war torn country. She said, despite the attack, his country remains committed to working with its Afghan, Indian, and other international partners to build a secure and prosperous Afghanistan free from senseless violence.
Meanwhile, Afghan President Hamid Karzai has condemned the suicide attack near the Indian Consulate in Jalalabad yesterday which killed 9 and injured 30 innocent Afghans, including children attending madrasa. Describing the killings as an heinous crime, Afghan President in a written statement in Kabul said that the perpetrators of such acts in the holy month of Ramadan are enemies of Islam and Afghan people. President Karzai has sent condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the quick recovery of the injured.
