The United States and China have agreed to expedite joint efforts for denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula. An understanding to this effect came during a meeting between US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and top Chinese diplomats and defense chiefs in Washington. <br/><br/>A consensus document released after the meeting said both the sides reaffirmed that they will strive for complete, verifiable and irreversible denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula. Rex Tillerson said that the United States pressed China to ramp up economic and political pressure on North Korea.
