US carries out strike on weapons storage facility in Syria controlled by IRGC & its affiliated groups; kills 9 militants

<span style="color: #222222;">The United States has carried out a strike on a weapons storage facility in eastern Syria which was reportedly controlled by Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and its affiliated groups. Nine militants were killed as a result of the strike. </span><br />''<br />''In a statement, US Secretary of Defence Lloyd Austin III  said the "self-defence strike" was carried out by two of the air force's F-15 fighters yesterday in response to recent attacks on US forces. He added that US President Joe Biden had no higher priority than the safety of its personnel. <br />''<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">Earlier, Washington claimed that its troops and their allies were attacked more than 40 times in Iraq and Syria injuring 45 soldiers. Yesterday, an American MQ-9 drone was shot down near Yemen by the Iran backed Houthi group over the Red Sea. The United States has sent warships and fighter aircraft to West Asia since the Israel-Hamas conflict erupted on October 7th to stop the conflict from spilling over to the whole region. </span><br />
