President Obama's top military adviser Admiral Mike Mallen has called on Pakistan to stop using what he called “proxies” to foment violence in the region. In an interview with the BBC, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff urged Pakistan to take action against Al Qaida's allies like the Hakkani network whose operations straddle the border between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
