US blocks Pak ambassador Masood Khan's appointment over 'possible terror links'

In a massive global embarrassment for Pakistan, the United States blocked the appointment of a new Pakistan ambassador due to possible terror links. US Congressman Scott Perry has opposed the proposed appointment of Masood Khan as Pakistani envoy to the US. Perry wrote a stinging letter to US President Joe Biden against Pakistan's decision calling Khan a terror sympathizer who praised terror organizations and terrorists like Hizbul Mujahideen and Burhan Wani. Mr Perry requested President Biden to reject Masood Khan as the next ambassador.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">In the letter, Perry wrote that Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan's nomination of a bona fide terrorist sympathizer working to undermine America's interests in the region as well as the security of Indian allies can only be described as a lack of judgment at best. He said that Mr Imran Khan's decision demonstrates Islamabad's unmitigated contempt for the United States at worst.</span><br />
