The United States and its European allies will impose sectoral economic sanctions if Russia or its proxies disrupt the elections in Ukraine. US Secretary of State John Kerry said in London yesterday that the US is working with Ukraine and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, OSCE to protect the rights of all Ukrainian citizens and to make their voices heard through the ballot boxes in a legitimate election. After a meeting of some European Foreign Ministers yesterday, British Foreign Secretary William Hague said that the ministers agree Russia's behavior towards the Ukrainian elections will determine whether or not wider economic and trade sanctions will be applied. On Tuesday, the Russian Foreign Ministry said it is extremely important to implement as soon as possible a roadmap proposed by the OSCE to solve the Ukraine crisis. In April, Ukraine, Russia, the US and the European Union reached an agreement in Geneva calling for all sides of the conflict to refrain from violence.
