US Ambassador to Afghanistan Karl Eikenberry has strongly refuted the anti-US criticisms by Afghan leadership. Addressing students of Herat University on Future Prospects of Afghanistan he said, United States would begin to lose ‘inspiration to carry on' with the counter terrorism campaign if all their efforts were described as ineffective. The ambassador’s remarks have come at a time when he is preparing to leave Afghanistan at the end of his tenure. A couple of weeks ago Afghan President Hamid Karzai has cautioned the NATO forces against mounting civilian casualties. Karzai said, if their raids on civilian areas continue they will be acknowledged as occupation forces.
