Uruguay wins record 15th Copa America title

Uruguay has won the Copa America football tournament in Buenos Aires for the record 15th time. Diego Forlan netted twice, after an early strike from Luis Suarez, as Uruguay defeated Paraguay 3-0 in a sensational Copa America final yesterday. With two goals, Diego Forlan has not only taken his international goal tally to 31 but has also bagged an emotional triumph, following his father and grand-father into the record books as a Copa America winner. In the semi-finals, Uruguay defeated Peru while Paraguay beat Venezuela. Earlier, favourites Argentina and Brazil had made shock exits from the tournament in the quarter-final stage.
