UPSC to hold 3 day tests beginning May 20 to fill vacant posts of IPS officers

The Union Public Service Commission, UPSC will hold three-day exclusive tests beginning May 20, to fill around 1,300 vacant posts of Indian Police Service, IPS officers across the country. The Indian Police Service Limited Competitive Examination (LCE), 2012 will be held on May 20, 21 and 22 at Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Guwahati, Kolkata and Nagpur. According to UPSC sources, the LCE will serve as second option to get lateral entry in the IPS by officers working in Armed, Central Paramilitary and State Police services among others.

The Department of Personnel and Training said in a release
today that all candidates found eligible have been issued Admit Cards through post. Candidates may also download the e-Admit Card from the Commission's Website at www.upsc.gov.in.
