UPSC asked to drop identity certificate provision in Central govt jobs

The Union Public Service Commission, UPSC has been asked not to insist for identity certificate in attestation form filled up before appointment to central government. In a letter to UPSC, Department of Personnel and Training has asked it to dispense with the provision in future. <br/><br/>After selection by the recruiting agencies the appointing authorities undertake character verification exercise of candidates. The candidates has to fill up an attestation form for verification which includes identity certificate.
