Uproar over AP division, Justice Ganguly removal leads to LS adjournment for day

The Lok Sabha was adjourned for the day today following noisy scenes on the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh and demand for removal of Justice A.K. Ganguly, Chairman of West Bengal Human Rights Commission. As soon as the House reassembled at noon, members from Andhra Pradesh trooped into the well with placards in their hands and shouting slogans against the bifurcation of the State.

Speaker Meira Kumar allowed the tabling of papers in the din and thereafter, she tried to take up the No-Confidence Motion. She tried to impress upon the agitating members to go back to their seats to enable her proceed with the admission of the Motion. But the agitating Members remained unrelenting, forcing her to adjourn the House for the day.

Trinanmool Congress members were also seen in the well, demanding the removal of Justice A.K. Ganguly for his alleged involvement in a sexual harassment case.
