Uproar in Rajya Sabha over Puducherry University magazine

The Rajya Sabha today witnessed heated exchanges between the opposition and treasury benches on the issue of publication of a magazine by the students' council of Puducherry University. <br/><br/>Raising the issue during Zero Hour, D Raja of the CPI accused the local BJP and Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad volunteers of organising a demonstration protesting against the publication, which carries the photographs of people including Rohit Vemula of Hyderabad University. He said such incidents had occurred in JNU and Hyderabad University.<br/><br/>Responding to this, Information and Broadcasting Minister Venkiah Naidu asked the member not to club the incident at JNU where anti-Indian slogans were raised, with Puducherry University incident. Following this, the House witnessed heated arguments.
