The Rajya Sabha today witnessed uproar following Deputy Chairman Prof P J Kurien rejecting a notice for suspension of business to discuss lifting of restrictions on cash withdrawals post-demonetisation. Raising the matter Sukhender Sekhar Roy of the TMC demanded that the government immediately remove all restrictions on the cash withdrawals as the announcement of demonetisations completes 90 days by today. <br/><br/>Quoting Prime Minister Narendra Modi that people can question him if the problems are not resolved by the end of December 2016, the TMC member sought the house to discuss the matter by suspending the listed business. Mr Kurien rejected the notice saying that the House had discussed the matter for 12 hours with both opposition and treasury benches extensively speaking on the issue.
