Uproar in LS, RS over women's reservation issue

Rajya Sabha adjourned till 3 p.m. while Lok Sabha till 4 p.m. due to uproar over the Women's Reservation Bill. Earlier, the House was adjourned till 2 p.m. following sloganeering by the SP, RJD and LJP members who were demanding the implementation of the Ranganath Mishra Report on Minority Welfare.The members belonging to these parties were up on their feet and began shouting slogans soon after silence was observed as mark of respect for the victims of the earthquake in Chile.The Constitutional Amendment bill providing for 33 per cent reservation for women in Lok Sabha and state assemblies which was moved in the House on Monday is listed for consideration on Tuesday. The Bill could not be debated or put to vote yesterday amidst unprecedented pandemonium and unruly scenes in the House after it was moved.Earlier, the Lok Sabha was first adjourned for 10 minutes and then till Noon amidst logjam over Women's Reservation Bill. As the assembled, the scene was no different and after laying down of important papers, the Speaker Mrs. Meira Kumar, adjourned the House till 2.00 PM.
