Uproar in Kerala assembly over police lathicharge

In Kerala, the state assembly witnessed uproarious scenes on Thursday as the opposition members trooped into the well of the house protesting against police lathicharge against left wing students. Shouting slogans against the UDF government opposition members rushed towards Chief Minister Oommen Chandy while he was replying to an adjournment motion on police action against students at Thiruvanathapuram on Wednesday. The speaker was forced to adjourn the house temporarily. Even during the question hour the opposition members kept raising the issue. Deputy leader of opposition Kodiyeri Balakrishnan demanded judicial probe into on Wednesday's police action in which several students and one of the opposition MLAs have been injured.
