Uproar in Delhi Assembly over rising commodity prices

The Delhi Assembly today witnessed uproar over rising prices of essential commodities forcing repeated adjournments of the house.<br/><br/>The motion of thanks to the Lt Governor's address wasthe only motion to be moved as BJP MLAs repeatedly trooped into the well. The House saw five adjournments before Speaker Yoganand Shastri called it a day as unrelenting BJP members were in no mood to allow the House to transact business.<br/><br/>Trouble started minutes after the House assembled for the day, when Leader of Opposition V K Malhotra requested the Speaker to allow an adjournment motion on the issue of price rise.As Congress MLAs opposed the proposal, all the BJP MLAs also stood up and started shouting anti-government slogans. <br/><br/>Finally the House was adjourned for the day,but before the adjournment, Congress MLA Barkha Singh moved the motion of thanks on the Lt Governor's address to the assembly.<br/><br/>Delhi Chief Minister Shiela Dikshit also tabled the copy of the annual audit report of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha university for the year 2007-08.
