<span style="color: #222222;">The Centre today said that till the 11th of December UPI has achieved transactions of 8,572 Crore rupees during the current financial year. In a written reply to Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Finance Dr. Bhagwat Karad informed that UPI has been the major driving force in the overall growth of digital transactions in the country accounting for 62 percent of digital payment transactions in the Financial Year 2022-2023. The Minister said that due to the rise of digital payments through the UPI, the year-on-year use of banknotes in circulation has decreased from 9.9 per cent in the Financial Year 2021-22 to 7.8 per cent in the Financial Year 2022-23. </span><br />
