Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati today alleged that UPA led Central government has failed to protect the rights of the backward classes of the country.
She said wrong policies of successive central governments are responsible for the poor socio-economic condition of backward classes.
Addressing an election rally at Jammu, the BSP leader said that unlike other political parties, her party believes in practical work at the ground level and not in rhetorics.
She said political parties are coming up with the manifestoes containing lofty promises which are not possible to be turned into realities. Mayawati took a swipe at the UPA regime for, what she said, its pro-capitalist economic policies and rampant corruption.
She alleged that governments at the centre have always formulated policies, which are in the favour of capitalist class and rich people with the common masses suffering.
She claimed that the country would be under constant threat of communal violence if Narendra Modi becomes the Prime Minister. Mayawati said there are allegations against Modi of staying silent during Godhra riots in 2002.
