UPA focussed on balanced, inclusive growth: Chidambaram

The UPA government has focussed on balanced and inclusive social and economic growth in the country and providing equal opportunities to each and every citizen to live a life of dignity and fulfilment. This was stated by Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram while addressing a press conference at Ahmedabad today. He added that a Rights based approach has been adopted to empower people for greater economic prosperity and social justice.

While speaking in a function of group of Ministers on media press conference in Ahmedabad today, the Information and Broadcasting Minister Mrs. Ambika Soni said that for the welfare of women and children, the UPA government has extended maximum assistance to each state government in which malnutrition percentage is high. Mrs. Soni said that it is the prime duty of each state government to think about women's safety and should provide them adequate security.

Union Law Minister Salman Khurshid said that UPA government has taken sufficient steps for the upliftment of minorities. He added that sufficient funds have been released for the students of minorities and other backward class students.
