UPA Co-ordination Committee & CWC to discuss Telangana issue this evening

UPA Coordination Committee and Congress Working Committee are meeting in New Delhi this evening to take a final call on the demand for a separate state of Telangana. Hectic political parleys have been underway in the national capital for the last few days ahead of a crucial decision on Telangana.
Congress President Sonia Gandhi today met Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh at his residence after she held a meeting with senior party leaders including Sushilkumar Shinde, Ghulam Nabi Azad, Digvijay Singh and Ahmed Patel.
Earlier, Congress leaders from Andhra Pradesh, who are against the bifurcation of the state, met Congress General Secretary in-charge of the state, Digvijay Singh.
In the meantime, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy, who reached Delhi this afternoon, is expected to meet Prime Minister at around 4 pm. He will also meet party leaders in the capital.
