Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati has said that the State Government will pass a resolution in the Assembly to carve out separate states of Bundelkhand and Harit Pradesh once the Centre gives its approval.<br/><br/>Ms Mayawati told media persons in Lucknow that she has written a letter to the Prime Minister Dr. Man Mohan Singh on the issue. She said that her party had always supported the policy of smaller states and districts for better administration and all-round development. Replying to a question, she said that if people of the eastern districts of the state desired for a separate Poorvanchal her government will also support it.<br/><br/>She has asked the people to pressure the UPA government at the Centre to concede their demands.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, Congress MLA and spokesperson of State Congress Vivek Kumar Singh has said that his party will support the resolution moved by the Government in the State Assembly for new states. He said if BSP Government is serious for creation of new states, it should pass a resolution in this regard as mere writing of letters is not sufficient.
